About

Hi there, I’m Abraham Oluwaninsola Olagunju 👋

I’m a passionate Backend Software Engineer with a deep-rooted enthusiasm for building scalable, efficient, and robust systems. I specialize in creating high-performing backend infrastructure that powers innovative software solutions across various industries, with a strong focus on Scalability, Security, and Openness.

Beyond my professional pursuits, I am a Christian and a devoted lover of God. My faith is at the core of who I am, guiding my principles, decisions, and how I approach both my work and relationships. I believe that through technology and service, we can make meaningful contributions that reflect God’s love by improving lives and creating lasting impact.

Whether I’m designing secure systems, promoting open collaboration through Open Science, or simply offering a helping hand, I strive to live out my values every day — with integrity, humility, and a heart for service.

A Bit About My Journey

With a degree in Computer Science and a professional background in software engineering, I’ve developed a strong foundation in both software development and system architecture. My journey has been characterized by a constant desire to learn, experiment, and push the boundaries of what technology can achieve.

Through my work, I’ve had the privilege of collaborating on diverse projects that have ranged from leading the backend development of a SaaS platform at Rokswood Energies, which integrates IoT metering systems to streamline utility management for gas, electricity, and water. As an advocate for Open Science, I volunteer with Open Science Community Nigeria to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing in research.

My Professional Focus

I am currently working as the Lead Software Engineer at Rokswood Energies, where I lead innovative projects aimed at enhancing eco-friendly energy consumption. I’ve been responsible for building a SaaS platform that integrates IoT metering systems to streamline utility management for gas, electricity, and water, helping businesses and homes access essential utilities efficiently.

In addition to my role at Rokswood, I have been exploring Cybersecurity through various short courses and am planning to pursue an MSc in Cybersecurity. While I am not yet deeply involved in the field, I am keen to specialize in penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to become proficient in identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities. I see this as an essential area for maintaining secure, reliable systems in an increasingly digital world.

My Vision

In everything I do, I aim to create innovative solutions that drive positive change. Whether it’s making everyday utilities accessible through technology, helping organizations scale seamlessly, or working towards safer online experiences, I am always working toward making the world a better place through technology. My long-term goal is to become a Cybersecurity Engineer and use my skills to help protect the systems that power everything from local startups to global enterprises.

I strongly believe in the power of open-source contributions to drive innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity in technology. To support my open-source projects and research initiatives, I’ve made it possible for individuals and organizations to sponsor my work through my GitHub Sponsorship page. Contributions will help me dedicate more time to developing impactful tools and resources that benefit the tech community at large.

If you believe in supporting innovative ideas, secure systems, and open collaboration, consider becoming a sponsor. Your support will directly contribute to building solutions that make a lasting impact in areas like Cybersecurity, and Open Science.

Outside of Work

Outside of work, I’m someone who enjoys the quieter, reflective moments that help me recharge and stay inspired. As an introvert, I find comfort in deep focus, whether it’s reading about emerging technologies, exploring software engineering trends, or working on personal projects. I’m constantly curious about how technology can solve real-world problems and improve lives.

I’ve always been a believer in continuous learning. From taking cybersecurity courses to experimenting with new frameworks and tools, I see every day as an opportunity to learn something new. I also enjoy spending time with communities that align with my interests, such as the Open Science Community Nigeria, where I volunteer to promote open collaboration and knowledge sharing in research.

In my downtime, I enjoy playing competitive computer and mobile games, with PUBG (PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds) being my go-to for unwinding. I also love a good game of Chess, which challenges me to think strategically and stay calm under pressure.

While I may not be the most talkative person in social settings, I genuinely enjoy connecting with people on topics I’m passionate about. I actively seek opportunities to collaborate with like-minded professionals, and I find that those shared projects and meaningful conversations often leave a lasting impact.

For me, it’s all about creating a balance between quiet introspection and purposeful action — constantly learning, building, and striving to leave a positive mark on the world.
